Animated GIF snippets from an animation ident. Gradient banding doesn't look good but I wanted to keep the file size to a minimum, hence the need for compromise. Plain, flat colours (vector AI files but also PS) would of course avoid the banding, or higher values settings when exporting the GIF in PS would offer a greater fidelity of colours, textures, backgrounds... but: higher quality GIF = larger file size VS. low quality GIF = small file size, faster upload. In this case I wanted to keep these test GIF anim. under 1 MB, with a relatively large width/height of 960 x 540 px.
