The global climate is changing, and access to water - which in the western world we give for granted - might change in the future from a basic right to a precious commodity, and perhaps wars will be fought over it.
The Great Tomorrow: Venice
I made this large drawing (102 x 72 cm, graphite pencils on paper) on the theme of cities of the future, starting with my hometown of Venice, Italy. I wanted to approach it from a different angle: what if, rather than ending up sinking and submerged, the city is standing in a dry, desert environment and the water has disappeared from its canals and from the surrounding lagoon?
