Creating this artwork, originally for canvas bags, I challenged myself to design some simple, linear characters that could be printed with a stencil method, where the whole artwork is cut on one single piece of stencil board.
Often we achieve interesting results when we're forced to think and create within certain constraints, and this was one of those happy occasions where I created the shapes of these two buddies at the first attempt, no redesign needed, apart from one tail ^_^
What works particularly well is the fluid simplicity of the bodies and expressions, which gives them a laid-back attitude, as they might have during a relaxed walk in a hot summer afternoon.
